Position Summary

The Revenue Accounting Manager will review and analyze data, and manage the general accounting and period end close process for assigned complex/high volume balance sheet accounts.  This position ensures accurate and timely financial accounting, ad-hoc reporting and analysis, and prepares detailed account analysis as needed.  When necessary, present findings with recommendations to Senior Manager and perform other financial functions on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities

•         Direct supervision of functional staff responsible for revenue related general ledger accounts including deferred revenue and accounts receivable 

•         Oversee period financial close activities related to revenue accounting and ensure an accurate and timely period, quarterly, and year end close for all related accounting; includes review of journal entries and account reconciliations

•         Oversee the daily reconciliation procedures between general ledger and point of sale systems to ensure the accurate and timely recording of revenue data and related receivables

•         Provide accounting guidance to ensure revenue transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP

•         Serve as subject matter expert for the accounting impacts in the order to cash cycle, including participation in user testing of new initiative development and implementation

•         Develop and implement related accounting policies and procedures and monitor compliance where needed; communicate to impacted departments

•         Consult with, and provide assistance to, internal and external auditors on department accounting procedures; responsible for external audit support during quarterly reviews and annual audit

•         Support an effective internal control environment through performance of SOX controls, assurance of control compliance, identification of control gaps and recommendation of new controls as needed

•         Generate/review reports as needed to support budget and forecasting as well as analysis of activity for unusual trends and accuracy of balances

•         Identify continuous process improvement of accounting systems and processes and drive recommended changes


Education / Credentials

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA preferred or working towards completion - 5 to 7 years experience

Minimum Years Experience

5 years relevant experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Previous Club/Hospitality experience, preferred
  • Oracle Cloud Financial ERP experience a plus
  • Proficient in Excel – Intermediate to Advance Excel preferred including Pivot Tables and formulas as well as ability to create SmartView Adhoc reports
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP; ability to research and propose accounting treatment of new agreements/products/business practices and ability to recognize unusual or new transactions requiring accounting treatment decisions

•         Proficiency and understanding of the various Club systems and how they interface with the general ledger and/or affect financial results   

  • High degree of analytical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of Management and other Employee Partners
  • Excellent organizational skills; deadline oriented and ability to prioritize/multi-task
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with teams, facilitate and lead a project to completion
