Job Description

Summary of Essential Job Duties:

  • Maintains and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transaction including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
  • Supervise the Corporate Payroll Coordinators and provide leadership and decision-making support to team on payroll issues and resolutions
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates pursuant to FLSA guidelines
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions in payroll software
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll wage and hours laws
  • Identifies and recommends suggestion of improvement to payroll processing systems and procedures
  • Processing of bi-weekly and weekly payroll for all entities
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, relevant industry regulations, tax, and deduction laws
  • Maintains employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential
  • Serve as primary contact for internal departments for special/exception requests for payroll activities, determining best course of action
  • Additional duties as assigned

Skills/Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control and payroll taxes
  • Strong knowledge/experience with a Pay Card and Daily Pay
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Strong Customer Service skills set
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite – advanced excel knowledge
  • Proficient in working within an HRIS system/Payroll system, i.e., Oracle HRIS, ADP
  • Must have worked with a Payroll Size greater than 5000 employees, including multi-state payrolls
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FCP) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
