Job Description

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage the general accounting and period end close process of assigned high volume and complex general ledger accounts
  • Generate, document and record all standard and non-standard journal entries for assigned areas including but not limited to weekly Revenue recognition, incentive accruals, property taxes and payroll allocations
  • Provide accounting guidance to ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP
  • Accurately complete and timely prepare post period end balance sheet account reconciliation for assigned accounts and respond to review notes
  • Quarterly, prepare analysis of changes in balance sheet balances for assigned accounts 
  • Responsible for accounting processes including but not limited to incentives, third party agreements and charitable contributions
  • Participate in user testing of new initiative development and implementation
  • Perform SOX controls when applicable
  • Assist and support documentation responding to internal and external auditors
  • Proactively and timely provide guidance and support as needed to insure compliance with internal and SOX controls
  • Special projects and other functions as required by manager

Skills Required;  

  • Previous Club/Hospitality experience, preferred
  • AR transactional, POS revenue or multi-unit accounting experience, preferred
  • Oracle Cloud Financial ERP experience a plus
  • Proficient in Excel – Intermediate to Advance Excel preferred including Pivot Tables and formulas as well as ability to create SmartView Adhoc reports
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP; ability to research and propose accounting treatment of new agreements/products/business practices and ability to recognize unusual or new transactions requiring accounting treatment decisions
  • Proficiency and understanding of the various Club systems and how they interface with the general ledger and/or affect financial results   
  • Attention to detail
  • High degree of analytical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of Management and other Employee Partners
  • Excellent organizational skills; deadline oriented and ability to prioritize/multi-task
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with teams, facilitate and lead a project to completion
