The equipment operator position is under the supervision ofthe assistant superintendent and golf course superintendent. He/she will be performing routine manuallabor and equipment operation for daily course preparation. This position will perform a wide range oftask, from mowing greens, detail trimming, raking/mowing bunkers, weed eatingditches, picking up trash, watering sod, tractor blowing, tee mowing, fairwaymowing, or mowing rough.
Typical Functions:
Operates Small hand tools for trimming aroundtrees, fence lines, banks, ditches, and hillsides; edges cart paths; edges,rakes and maintains bunkers
Operates mowers for mowing greens, greensurrounds, club house grounds, bunkers, tees, rough, and fairways.
Maintains fuel and fluid levels for all types ofequipment on a daily basis, reports equipment problems or failures to equipmentmanager or supervisor immediately.
Returns all equipment to the designated locationat the maintenance facility; and cleans the maintenance areas.
Helps in project work: grades and prepares soilbase, lays sod or seed, excavates and backfills ditches and trenches with handtools.
Perform other duties as directed by his/hersupervisor.
