VICE PRESIDENT-TOURNAMENT SALES

The Vice President of Tournament Sales is accountable for revenue generation in the area of Tournament Events for the company.  He/she is responsible for identifying and negotiating national account contracts that creates marketing alliances that allow for the continued growth of Tournament Events. 

This individual will lead a team of Regional and Club based Tournament Directors and partner with them to promote programs as well as collect and share any “best practice” findings or industry trends to aid and assist the club level sales efforts, including training systems and suggestions from a Tournament Events perspective, nationwide.  Reporting to the SVP of Sales and the Chief Revenue Office this individual will be fully engaged with the Revenue department to analyze and promote revenue opportunities from the Tournament Events perspective that align with the goals of the team and the Tournament Sales Directors and General Managers. 



Essential Responsibilities


•    Keeping a strong focus on opportunities to grow and enhance ClubCorp’s Tournament Event sales without sacrificing the Member experience. 


•    Ensuring that all National offerings and initiatives are focused on driving revenues and profitability.


•    Monitor feedback from the field and, coupled with the resulting revenue growth, provide perspective on future growth opportunities.


•    Develop and implement lead generation and marketing strategies at a national, regional and club level.


•    Assist in facilitating Tournament Event’s best practice sharing internally.


•    Externally investigate trends that are appropriate to a Private Club environment and demonstrate profitability.


•    Ensure that the Regional and Club Tournament Directors are equipped to facilitate offerings while assisting in driving revenue.




Essential Functions and Accountabilities

1.  Create a National Tournament Events’ Sales strategy, which will include targeting national accounts, organizations and large corporations to negotiate and secure private event commitments in multiple markets.

2.   Be knowledgeable of targeted marketing techniques that will promote the Clubs and provide creative revenue solutions for Clubs experiencing poor Tournament Event sales performances.

3.   Maintain industry relations, partnering with internal subject matter experts, via membership affiliation in MPI, Tournament Industry Associations, etc.

Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
  • Extensive Tournament Sales experience
  • 7-10 years of multi-property tournament sales team leadership
  • Ability to plan and manage at both strategic and operational levels
